You get both MP3 and high-resolution WAV (44.1kHz / 16-bit) files. This is our most popular tier — the WAV file gives your engineer the best quality to mix and master with. Stream limit is 250,000. Includes 1 radio station and 1 music video. Master split: 90% you / 10% Johnny Good. Composition (GEMA) stays 100% with the producer.

What do I get with a Stem Lease?

You get WAV files and individual stem files (each instrument/track separated) — with NO stream limits, no radio limits, and no video limits. Stems give a professional mixing engineer full control to blend the beat with your vocals. Livestreaming and live performances are included. Perfect for artists expecting major commercial success. TV, film, and game synchronization rights are NOT included (requires a separate sync license — contact us). Master split: 90% you / 10% Johnny Good. Composition (GEMA) stays 100% with the producer.

What do I get with an Exclusive License?

Accepted Answer

You get MP3 + WAV + Stems + ALL rights to the beat. The beat is permanently removed from the 808Vault store — no one else can ever lease it. No stream limits, no platform limits, no video limits. TV/film/game sync rights are negotiable. The master split is negotiable and defined in a separate written agreement. Note: even with an exclusive license, the producer retains 100% of the composition copyright (GEMA writer's share) unless a separate publishing agreement is signed.

Who owns the beat after I buy a license?

The producer (Johnny Good) always owns the copyright to the composition (the musical work). When you buy a license, you are purchasing the right to USE the beat — not ownership of it. Think of it like renting an apartment: you can live in it, decorate it, and benefit from it, but you don't own the building. The only exception is an Exclusive License, where the master recording rights transfer to you, but the composition copyright remains with the producer unless separately negotiated.

What does "100% Composition (GEMA)" mean?

GEMA is the German performance rights organization. "100% composition" means that all songwriting/publishing royalties from the beat belong to Johnny Good. This includes performance royalties (radio, TV, live performances), mechanical royalties (streaming, downloads), and sync royalties (film, TV, games). You do not need to register the beat with any publishing organization — it's already registered. This is standard industry practice: producers keep their writer's share, artists keep their performer's share from their own recordings.

What does the 90/10 master split mean?

For all non-exclusive licenses (Lease through Stem Lease), you (the artist) own 90% of the master recording, and Johnny Good owns 10%. This means 90% of the income from your release (streaming revenue, digital sales, etc.) goes to you, and 10% goes to the producer. This is a very favorable split for the artist — most producer deals are 50/50 on the master. For Exclusive licenses, the master split is negotiable.

Can I register the beat with BMI/ASCAP/GEMA as my own?

Accepted Answer

No. You cannot register the beat or any portion of it with any copyright organization as your own work. The composition belongs to Johnny Good. Your registration should only cover your original contributions (your vocals, your lyrics, your additional production). Registering the underlying beat as your own composition is copyright infringement and a violation of the license terms.

Question 9

Can I resell or redistribute the beat?

Accepted Answer

No. You cannot resell, redistribute, sublicense, or transfer the beat to anyone else. The license is non-transferable — it belongs to you and only you. If a collaborator needs the beat files, you can share them within your production team, but you cannot sell the beat as a "type beat" or lease it to other artists.

Question 10

What counts toward the stream limit?

Accepted Answer

All audio streams across all platforms count toward the limit: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube (audio portion), SoundCloud, Tidal, Deezer, Amazon Music, etc. Once your song exceeds the stream limit of your license tier, you need to upgrade to the next tier. We'll notify you if a track is approaching its limit, so you can upgrade before it's an issue.

Can I perform the beat live?

Accepted Answer

Live performances are allowed on all tiers from Premium Lease and above. For the basic Lease (MP3) tier, live performances are not included — but you can upgrade at any time. For Stem Lease and Exclusive, live performances are fully included with no restrictions.

Question 12

Can I use the beat on YouTube / Instagram / TikTok?

Accepted Answer

Yes — all tiers allow use on social media and video platforms for promotional purposes. Content ID claims on YouTube may apply to protect the composition copyright, but this doesn't prevent you from uploading. For monetized video content (ad revenue), the Premium Lease and above include one music video. The Stem Lease and Exclusive tiers include unlimited video use.

Question 13

What about TV, film, and video game placements?

Sync licensing (TV, film, commercials, video games) is NOT included in any lease tier — not even Stem Lease. Sync rights require a separate written agreement and fee, because the value of a sync placement can be substantial. Contact us to negotiate sync licensing. For Exclusive licenses, sync can be negotiated as part of the deal.

Question 14

Can I upgrade my license later?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can upgrade from any tier to any higher tier at any time. The price you already paid is credited toward the upgrade. For example, if you bought a Lease (€49.99) and want to upgrade to Premium (€79.99), you only pay the difference (€30). Contact us or use the upgrade link in your order confirmation email. The upgrade applies to the specific beat you purchased.

Do you offer bundle discounts?

Yes! We offer volume discounts for artists working on full projects. Contact us directly at info@808-vault.com for custom bundle pricing on 3+ beats. Bundle deals include: "Any 3 Leases for €99" and "5 Premium Leases for €299" — available on request.

What if my song goes viral and exceeds the stream limit?

Congratulations! 🎉 If your song exceeds the stream limit of your license, we'll reach out to discuss an upgrade. You won't be hit with any penalties — we want to see you win. The upgrade to the next tier is prorated based on what you already paid. We're artists too, and we understand that success should be celebrated, not punished.

How do I get my files after purchase?

Immediately after successful payment, you'll see a download button on the order confirmation page. We also send a download link to your email. All files are delivered as high-quality digital downloads. No physical products are shipped.

What format are the files?

Accepted Answer

MP3: 320kbps, 44.1kHz, stereo. WAV: 44.1kHz / 16-bit, stereo. Stems: Individual WAV files for each track (kick, snare, hi-hats, 808/bass, melodies, FX, etc.), 44.1kHz / 24-bit. All files are delivered as ZIP archives for easy downloading.

Can I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final once the download has been accessed. Under German law (§ 356 (5) BGB), you expressly waive your 14-day right of withdrawal when you agree to the immediate download. If you experience technical issues (corrupted files, broken links), contact us and we'll resolve them immediately.
